Alto Saxophone Pads

How much does it cost to have all the key pads on an Alto Saxophone replaced?

My good old Alto needs all of it’s pads replaced.
From what I’ve heard, it costs hundreds of dollars, but that answer doesn’t exactly suit me.

Can someone who’s had it done give me an estimate?
I’m planning to have King Music do the repairs, but I could go somewhere else if necessary.

It does cost a few hundred dollars, and it does vary.

A set of pads itself costs about $100, possibly more, especially for older instruments.

The main cost however is labor. The cost per hour and speed of the repairman can vary greatly. It generally takes professionals a few hours (it needs to be precise) and most charge a large amount per hour (~$50+).

Make sure you specify that you only want a repadding (assuming that’s all you need), otherwise they may charge you for other changes.
