American Standard Stratocaster
American Standard Stratocaster

Do i have to make any adjustments if i change the strings on my american standard stratocaster to .10 gauge? ?
I recently bought a american standard stratocaster and i know the factory specs are set up for .09 gauge strings. are there any adjustments i need to make to the springs and bridge and if so how do i do this.
Hello! Anytime you change string gauges you need to check the intonation, floating bridge position, and truss rod adjustments. Your American Standard probably did come with 9’s, so going up to 10’s will most likely require some tweaking. Check out http://www.fender.com/support/stratocaster.php for details on making these tweaks. Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GD7zXzkrdM has a decent visual on making truss rod adjustments on Stratocasters. None of this is rocket science, so don’t be afraid! Best regards, Dana
