apple Ipod touch software update wont work?

Im having trouble updating my ipod touch to the new 2.1 iphone software i bought a itunes 20$ card and i have redeemed it, but it still asks for a credit card and wont update.

two solutions, hopefully they will work.

1: try downloading ziphone, and entering DFU mode. then, restore it in itunes.
2: try restoring onto another firmware. ive tried with 1.1.3 and 1.1.4
then restore it with 2.1
