Learning Piano Music The Easy Way!

December 14th, 2008

Learning piano properly is all about doing. You learn by doing because good practice habits are easily formed and data gets stored in the subconscious allowing you to pull it out whenever you need it without thinking. That’s why repetition is so valuable because your body learns movement and your subconscious stores the sounds.

You’re never too old to start learning how to play the piano. There are SO many online instruction programs today, that I know it can be very confusing. It is my intent that this article will shed some light into your search to find the most appropriate course for your specific needs.

At first, I strongly suggest that you do some deep soul searching and decide what style of music you want to REALLY play. There are so many styles of music and at this stage in your life; you should only focus on the style of music that you really enjoy.

Second, decide how much time you want to spend learning to play the piano. Now, if you’re only concerned with playing with the least amount of mental and physical effort, I advise you to seriously consider purchasing an inexpensive keyboard that offers instrument accompaniment features. You don’t need to “take lessons” for this type of recreational enjoyment.

These electronic keyboards usually provide a manual that shows you how to build very easy chords. Additionally, these electronic keyboards also include accompaniment styles, (i.e. Rock, Pop, Jazz, Polka, etc). As a matter of fact, some keyboards guide you through the learning process by providing keys that “light up” to help you land on the correct note!

Third, if you’re really interested in learning how to make music on the piano, and can consistently set aside at least 15 to 30 minutes a day, then you should definitely continue your search for the online program that speaks to your specific needs and lifestyle.

The Majority of Piano Review Sites Are Not Credible

Always remember that any “review site” was designed to make money from the web sites their reviewing. Believe ME! As smart business people, they are affiliates of all sites being reviewed. As such, no matter what site the customer decides to purchase through, they make an affiliate commission.

Their ultimate goal is to realize a return on their investment (ROI). Whatever site makes them the most money, they will declare them to be the “best pick.” My sites have been in number one positions, through a number of review sites and as soon as another site allows them to make more money, my site is instantly ranked lower.

Pay close attention to web sites that appear in the “organic” rankings; not those on the “sponsored links” on the right side of a search engine. Affiliates and web site owners pay for those sponsored ads through “Pay Per Click” services. Those ads are just screaming “PICK ME!”

Remember, no matter what your specific needs are, chances are good that there is a piano playing program out there for you. But don’t just take our word on it - do your own research and create your own piano lesson reviews!

What works for someone else may not be right for you. When you find the right program, keep at it and pretty soon your piano playing skills will amaze you.Learn to Play Piano

Christmas Music Puts Me In A Shopping Mood

December 7th, 2008

Singing holiday music during the holidays usually puts me in a greatshopping mood. When I hear christmas music, I become happy and lively. With that feeling during the holidays, I find that is the best time to shop for presents. warmer climates that do not have frequent snows and cold stormy days that helps us remember it is Christmas time, holiday tunes helps us imagine settings of snowy days that usually accompany the holiday season.

Holiday Music

  1. Happy Holidays
  2. Silent Night
  3. Silver Bells
  4. Holly Jolly Christmas
  5. Frosty The Snowman

Many songs, like Frosty The Snowman, create a mental picture of a wonderful Christmas evening. The song Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire speaks of Jack Frost, dressing like Eskimos, children showing excitement in their eyes. The song White Christmas talks of sleigh bells in the snow and the days being merry and bright. What could be better to put you in the holiday mood?

Some may whistle while they work, but I enjoy singing, or at least listen to Christmas music when I am shopping. I must admit, unless my child is with me, I prefer the classics sung by Johnny Mathis and Judy Garland. A couple of classic songs by those singers before, during and after shopping truly make it easier for me to deal with the holiday crowds when it comes time to find presents.

Learning To Read Acoustic Guitar Notes

December 3rd, 2008

It is not hard for a newbie to learn to play the guitar, the guitar is among the simplest instruments you can learn to play, know that 65% of the American people know how to play the guitar. If you are unaccustomed playing guitar then it can look a little bit overpowering, but take it from me when i tell that it is pretty well to do and if you are able to get past the learning curve it is truly a great deal of fun to play guitar.

Firstly you need to realize that the guitar is a very unque instrument and perhaps you can’t make it sound good just yet, if you stick with it though the rewards that come with being able to play well are very much worth the time it took you to learn. You will no doubt find that learning the guitar will give you many hours of enjoyment.

Learning Guitar Techniques

One of the many challenges tha you will face is trying to figure out how to learn guitar techniques, with so many teachers and so many different techniques you very well may have to do what you feel is best for you. You might go as far as to modify the technique to make it doable for you.

It may sound strange talking about comfort and ease learning guitar playing techniques, but they do play a huge part with your picking and strumming that new guitar. As you will soon begin to understand.

Each persons fingers are not the same lengths, so what works for the individual with short, stubby fingers may not work for the guitar player who has long, slender fingers. Once you try to form a few chords and cry out, ‘this isn’t natural you will know what I’am talking about. It is a normal reaction and that all new players will go through trying to comprehend how to learn guitar.

Don’t Give Up

Hang in there and keep trying to learn guitar because it is a long process and to be truthful, the best advice that any guitar teacher can give is the age-old line of practice, practice, and more practice!

Playing the guitar well is the result of small steps that have been repeated over and over, and over again until they are perfected. So if you can not or will not dedicate a lot of practice time toward your passion then chances are you will eventually give up.

Playing guitar is very fun and rewarding; however it will take hard work and patience. If you really desire to play, keep dreaming about playing your favorite song or riff and keep this vision in front of you. This goal will keep you motivated and determined on those days that you just don’t feel like practicing. If you have been dreaming of playing the guitar, go for your dreams. There is no better time than the present. You can get a great resource to help you learn to play guitar fast at: learn to play guitar

The Future of New York Radio: Howard Stern Sirius Style

new york city live radio

Author is not associated with Sirius or Howard Stern in any way and this article is meant to be an analysis of the move to Sirius Satellite Radio by Howard Stern and events surrounding it.

Howard Stern’s move to Sirius Satellite Radio will really make a huge difference for New York Radio. With listeners making the move to Satellite Radio and away from New York City, what will happen to the radio stations broadcasting in New York City? Does radio continue on a good course or does it need a wake up call? – Is this it’s wakeup call?

The Daily News, has said that New York City radio “faces its last great wakeup call” and is being forced to deal with changing technologies, and the ever changing consumer tastes. The biggest threat, obviously to New York Radio is the changing of radio formats, from terrestrial to Satellite Radio. The Hollywood Reporter has outlined several new changes that Sirius Satellite Radio has made to its radio channel line up in order to take away market share from New York Radio and this is a huge threat to the terrestrial format.

Howard Stern isn’t the only one whom is making the move to Satellite Radio, there are several shock jocks that are in some areas, the flag ship of Clear Channel and several other networks. Stern will now have two stations via Sirius Satellite Radio and there are more in the works. Sirius also has plans for upto five family and kids channels as well as three difference Christian channels. Sirius is covering all its listeners wants and desires, New York radio has failed to do that, and Sirius is answering the call of its subscribers for better content!

HD Radio Stations - They’re Here (And More Are on the Way)

If, like many Americans, you’re holding off on buying an HD Radio because you’re not sure there are any stations broadcasting in HD Radio technology, you could stop holding off.

There are already more than 1,000 stations across the U.S. broadcasting in HD Radio technology and more are adding the technology every day.

This is not limited to just major markets, either. For example, here in Colorado, there are stations broadcasting in HD Radio technology in Colorado Springs. And Ft. Collins. Albuquerque has seven stations broadcasting HD radio signals, and both Memphis and Nashville, TN have HD technology licensed stations.

Naturally, the major markets such as New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Dallas-Ft. Worth, San Francisco, Seattle, and St. Louis all have numerous stations broadcasting HD Radio. Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and Miami do too. In fact, it’s almost impossible to find a city with a population of more than 200,000 that does not have at least a couple of HD radio stations.

How about HD AM stations?

While many of these stations are HD FM, there are also a number of HD AM stations. For example, Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver/Boulder, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Miami, and Minneapolis-St. Paul have HD AM stations, as do Albany-Schenectady-Troy, San Diego and San Antonio.

What’s the advantage of HD AM stations. It’s that HD enables AM stations to sound as clear and static-free as conventional FM stations. So, if you’re a talk radio fan, you would be able to hear your favorite programs with the same clarity and fidelity as if they were broadcasting in FM.

The future also looks very bright for HD Radio. The big broadcast corporations such as Infinity and Clear Channel have pledged their support of HD Radio. Plus, HD radio is being pushed by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) which has announced an agreement that will accelerate the conversion of over 800 PBS AM and FM stations to iBiquity’s digital HD Radio broadcasting.

Just as important, iBiquity recently announced that is has signed agreements with four, new China-based manufacturers to produce low-cost HD radios.
