Dude how to I tell my mom that I don’t want to play the clarinet anymore. I want to play percussion. She just spent $750 6 months ago to buy a clarinet. Do you think on eBay, I could still sell it for $750?

#1. It’s always best to approach your mom with something like this in a direct fashion. Expect her to be upset, but when she calms down, maybe she’ll be more apt to listen.

#2. Has your band director said that you could change instruments? If not, it might be a fruitless thing to even push with your mom.

#3. No, you will not be able to get your $750 back on Ebay. You see, you have a student line instrument that is now a used instrument. The most you’d ever be able to hope to get is $500, and that’s from a sucker.
